A CLOSER LOOK:Testing is performed utilizing fasting blood, urine, and saliva samples while given a modified glucose challenge drink. The drink is designed to stimulate one of the two major metabolic systems, oxidative or autonomic, depending on your dominant metabolic type. During the procedure, urine, saliva, and blood samples are monitored and analyzed to determine your specific metabolic type. Body fat analysis and body composition analysis are also tested utilizing state of the ar t computerized bioelectrical impedance technology. All laboratory work is performed and analyzed on premises and a detailed report of findings will be given on the second office visit. A total of six visits are included in the consultation, examination, and laboratory fee in addition to a one-month supply of Personalized Metabolic Nutrition supplementation - multivitamin / multimineral, vitamin C, and digestive enzymatic support specific for your blood pH and metabolic type, if required. |

There are two main premises that distinguish Metabolic Testing from all other types of nutrition. The first premise is that the body functions best when venous blood pH is 7.46, (similar to a swimming pool having an optimum pH range). Any deviation below or above 7.46 (acid or alkaline, respectively) will interfere with the assimilation (breakdown) and utilization (absorption) of macronutrients (protein, fat, and carbohydrates) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals). The greater the deviation of blood pH, the greater the imbalance and the more disease processes are likely to occur.
The second premise of Metabolic Testing is that people have different metabolic responses to food, vitamins, and minerals. For example, if a glucose challenge were given to one hundred people, the blood of approximately half the people would be acidified and half would be alkalized. The same is true for potassium, calcium, vitamins C & E and all other vitamins, minerals, and foods. The importance of these two premises is apparent in understanding how certain pathologies can be alleviated through Metabolic Testing. If the blood pH is 7.46, or close to it, optimal health, energy gain, and weight (fat) loss are more likely to occur. To optimize health, foods, and supplements that balance blood pH are recommended.
Visit
1 - about 2½ hours
Consultation, examination, vitals, fasting blood work - glucose,
total cholesterol, HDL (good) cholesterol, LDL (bad) cholesterol,
triglycerides, urine analysis, saliva analysis, blood typing, body
composition analysis, body fat analysis, modified glucose challenge
test, metabolic typing - blood pH, testing for secondary imbalances
- acidosis/alkalosis, electrolytic imbalance, and anabolic/ catabolic
imbalances are also tested. Body mass index (BMI) - ratio of height
to weight, basal metabolic rate (BMR) - rate your body burns calories
while at rest, and cardiovascular risk ratio are also assessed.
Visit
2 - about 20-30 minutes (Within 1 week)
Detailed report of findings for metabolic type, explanation
of laboratory tests, supplementation, dietary, and exercise recommendations
specific for your metabolic type and goals presented will be discussed
on your second visit.
Visits
3-6, Follow-up visits
Consultation, body fat analysis, and body composition analysis
(Every 2 weeks). Recommended 3 month follow-up visit- entails: Consultation,
examination, vitals, fasting blood work glucose, total cholesterol,
HDL (good) cholesterol, LDL (bad) cholesterol, triglycerides, urine
analysis, body fat analysis, body composition analysis.
